The scenery along the Columbia River Gorge was exciting and beautiful, as usual. In Oregon the trees along the river are so tall that they block the view from the highway, so at the Bridge of the Gods, Dan drove over to the Washington side. The day was sunny and clear, and the wind blew high, as always. Multitudes of wind-surfers plied the surging flow and braved the buffeting wind.

We had a lively evening with Carol, Dan's sister who lives in Kennewick. We did a load of wash when we first got there, as we always do. Then Christina joined us for dinner at Bonefish Grill in Richland. My steelhead and asparagus salad put me over the moon. We spent a long time arguing about whether steelhead is salmon or trout. It looks like salmon and tastes like salmon, and it is sometimes marketed as a type of salmon, but according to Dan, and confirmed by internet research, steelhead is a type of trout. The preparation was perfect and the accompanying salad was subtle. The others were also pleased with their dishes. I forgot to photograph the food or the diners. Too bad. We had a lively conversation. Christina always gets me laughing.
